The 11th biennial edition of DefExpo India- 2020 was scheduled and held in Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow with the theme: The Emerging defence Manufacturing Hub’ and focus will be on ‘Digital Transformation of defence’.
The DefExpo provided an opportunity to the major foreign Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to collaborate with the Indian defence industry and help promote ‘Make in India’ initiative of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The DefExpo would provide a unique platform for defence industry OEMs, exhibitors and private industry to display their latest innovations and capabilities.
Karnataka is the leader in Aerospace & Defence, state attracts 65% of the aerospace investments in the country, Karnataka has a long tradition of being an aerospace hub with the presence of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, besides other defence public sector units such as BEL, GTRE, NAL, DRDO, etc. The state also has the presence of leading private sector players like EADS, Boeing, Airbus Etc.
Mr Jagadish Shettar, Hon’ble Minister for Large and Medium Scale Industries, Government of Karnataka will be participating in the CEO’s Conclave along with Mr Gaurav Gupta, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Karnataka, and Ms Gunjan Krishna, IAS Commissioner for Industrial Development and Director of Industries and Commerce have confirmed to participate and interactive with CEO’s.
Defence Expo Lucknow 2020 showcases the comprehensive spectrum of India's aerospace, defence and security interests. Delegates from 70 countries and 172 foreign military manufacturers have attend the five-day mega exhibition. ASARA for Indian defence firms have also showcased their products at the event.
